Practiced in Ireland and throughout
Europe for hundreds of years, traditional timberwork uses
large section timbers joined with pegged mortice and tenon,
and scarf joints.
Medieval timber roofs and buildings have
proved their worth, still working today, valued for their
beauty and durability.
For these reasons, and for new ecological
and insulation reasons, there has been a great revival of
post and beam network throughout Europe and North America
over the past twenty years. We are reviving this craft here
in Ireland.
